One of the *** at Bright House Networks decided that they (Bright House) should be able to dictate the amount of continuous time that I could watch any particular channel so he (or they) invented the Power Save Mode which puts my set top box to sleep after only four hours of viewing time. Although there is an On/Off toggle circuit in the settings section of the menu, this Power Save Mode cannot be turned off. Since the bill for this cable service is paid 30 days in advance, I believe that I own that TV signal 24 hours a day for 30 days and can view any damn channel I care to for as long as I care to. They (Bright House) have no right to interrupt that signal which I have paid for except for occasional power outages and/or weather interruptions. I am one of the 17% of all Americans who sleep with their TV on and are awakened when the service is disconnected. This moronic feature has been incorporated into all three of the boxes (Scientific Atlanta, Cisco, & Samsung)that they (Bright House) supplies. Their local office supervisor has informed me that their corporate supervisors have decided that they will not ever activate the On/Off toggle circuit on their boxes. I am talking with a law firm that has advised me to think about instituting a Class Action Suit against Bright House, Time Warner, Advanced Newhouse Communications, Scientific Atlanta, Cisco, Samsung, et al. I'm working on it.

basicly everbody has a problem with brighthouse,from controlled settop boxes to cable and internet constantly going down,even on a nice

sunny day.The problem is with the people they hire as contractors for the price of a hamburger.These people are untrained,some don't even

speak proper English to communicate with you about a problem that exists with your system.The infrastucture is terrible and is in constant

repair.Yet they pat themselves on the back and give themselves awards.Channel 13 is part of the company,have you ever heard any news

(BAD) about brighthouse service?of course not.Since you and I don't have a contract,they can do what they want.Raise your price,alter your

bundle fees when you deduct a service,such as a phone,which also is a joke,since it it cant be used when the internet goes down.Scam bundles are the best,sometimes you end up paying more,and all these phantom taxes,which nobody understands not even the people that run the support phones.I have neighbors that work for this company,some are supervisors,i have asked them about the practice of brighthouse,they will not answer me except for one remark,(you need to call brighthouse.sounds like their Job scared.Best bet get Dish.or better yet Get an antenna,if you are withen 125-140 miles of the Orlando area you can receive over 70 free HD channels,with a better quality since its not downgraded over the cable and wire system and then hits your settop box,These are new Generation Antennas and not the old fashion UHF-VHF,the signal is clean,The price=FREE TV,since its a government mandate.I have lived in rual parts of the US before retiring to Florida and never had a TV or Internet go out even in ice storms,its a shame how this company is run, and the amount of money they charge you for bad service,with very little support,by the way, when you call support,they are based in Ontario Canada, They rely on computers to find your problem,really??and really have very little info on your situation in your area,thats why they are all trained to talk you down or feel sorry for you to keep you paying even if its messed up.Calling these people is a waist of time,since whatever is wrong is mostly on the outside and not at home,Modems and Routers work for a long time and ever hardly malfunction,Been in the business for over 50 years and have seen only a few go bad.Bottom Line they have nobody to compete with so they do what they want.hope this info helps a lot of us in with this problem.The choice is yours,That they cant charge or control what you do about it !!

Thank you Charles. I have repeatedly complained about this very same problem as well as the bad refurbished boxes they keep sending out that are constantly rebooting for 15plus minutes several times a day.

They continue to lie to me every time in call about these problems and they are never resolved. If you file a class action suit, I am in.

You might want to read your cable agreement with Brighthouse before attempting legal action.

4. Use of Services; BHN Equipment and Software

(a) I agree that BHN has the right to add to, modify, or delete any aspect, feature or requirement of the Services (including content, price, equipment and system requirements).

Also things in the agreement such as Arbitration might be important.
