I have had brighthouse cable and internet for about 6 weeks and I am convinced that they are nothing but scam artists.

When I initially called and ordered cable and internet I was quoted a price of $69.97 which I agreed to.

About 1 hour later, I get a call from Brighthouse offering me a more expensive package of $89.95, I was told to that the $69.97 package would increase after 6 months, but if I took the more expensive package, the price would be fixed for 1 year.

I was also told that there would be no installation fees.

However at installation I was asked to pay more money, I phoned Brighthouse, and was told that when the I got my bill, with the installation charges, if I called them, they would remove the charges.

However I received a bill, for $137.00, instead of the $89.95 as agreed,

I called Brighthouse, and was told that I was charged for a month of the movie channel (which I didn't ask for), however they were willing to reduce the bill to $99.95,

I argued that I had agreed to a package of $89.95 not $99.95, they told me that no such package existed, and that they would have a chat with their sales staff, I told them to come and take their stuff back, cause they are bloody thieves!!

I agree, My bill grew with out my knowledge. When I have tried to call them, I get put on hold.

and hold and hold. I get the internet, and because I am deaf, I am supposed to get a federal assistance with a telephone.

I do not have TV. I am now paying $90 a month for internet, started out at 40.

We were with this cable company for many years; first when it was Time Warner, then Brighthouse and now Spectrum. Since it has been Spectrum, not only do they lie, cheat and steal your money from unscrupulous acts, they can now tell you that you have such great, fast internet, and yet it's worse than dial up.

The fees go up, the service goes down so that you will 'upgrade' from bad to worse. Hate these people. One of the most disgusting companies ever. Can't wait to move out of their area and dump them completely.

Once you lower your services, they will do all they can to 'pad the bill'.

Stay away if you have an alternative choice. That's my recommendation.

bright house billing is a method of figuring out ways to charge you more for the same service, they are charging me 57. for internet and then again 20 for 60MGB plus Echo 6 and what ever else.

I am very that I found out there is another company laying micro fiber lines for better internet and cable service. I am looking forward that crook house to go away.

I just moved to Florida from Rhode Island and I see that Brighthouse is not much different than Cox. We had Cox.

I had them automatically charge my checking account for the 7 years I had them. But when I notified them in Sept. that I would be moving in November they just kept billing me. They continued billing my checking account the entire following year despite not having a contract and despite calling every single month for well over a year.

I canceled my bank account because that bank has no branches in Florida and the bank called me every month telling me I owed them for another $300 Cox just charged my checking account. It is now 14 months after I notified them and a year after I was supposed to end service and they are still attempting to bill my long closed checking account. So my point is that I am looking for high speed internet service and find Brighthouse is the only choice and everyone is telling me horror stories about Brighthouse quoting $89 for lightning 75 but the bill says $175 after "fees" "charges" and "taxes." I don't want to get locked into a contract until I find out more.

I've been burned by cable companies before so I am gun shy.

When I got internet connection I paid an installation charge and one month in advance. Suddenly they changed their dates on bills to make it look as though you were paying for the previous month.

I was moving and had it disconnected expecting a refund.

They've now billed me and said it was past due! I called anonymously to get prices on new installation of internet and AGAIN was told that it was an installation fee and one month' service in ADVANCE.

I don't know how many people have been scammed with this.

I hate brighthouse. They are scammers.

They send a "third party" to collect and charge you 20 for this but all they do is hang a note on your door. They don't attempt to collect anything. I wasn't receiving my bill in the mail and then was getting a note on my door. I didn't have as many problems when I was bundling but now that I only do their internet service because we watch Netflix I have had nothing but problems.

They call constantly to try to get you to bundle again.

The bundling is there to hide all the scams and extra charges they WILL charge you. STAY AWAY FROM BRIGHTHOUSE!!!!

Stay away from brighthouse, they are rotten to the core. I pay online and this is the 2nd time they said that they did not receive payment and I needed to come in person to pay again including a late fee. I am switching to fios.

I had Bright House for years, nothing but problems. At least every two months some dude would knock on my door and tell me I owed them money and he was there to collect, or I would be setting watching tv and it would go off, leaving a message to call their number.

Again "You didnt pay your Bill" Funny , when they looked it up "OOOOPS" our mistake, you are on automatic payment plan. Couldnt straighten it up over the phone and had to drive 20 miles to their main office, where everything was fine with our account with them, Not even as we are sorry for the trouble.

Dropped them like a hot rock and went to Verizon Fios.

I recently had a bill charging me for 2 months of internet service. I am notified by e-mail when my payments are due.

When I went back to look, I had never received a notice from Brighthouse. I paid my bill, along with the late fee. The next month I received my bill as usual. The following month I never received my bill and was charged twice on this month's, along with another late fee.

I recently had to go back to paper statements to make sure this would stop. I am considering switching companies.

brighthouse ripped me off also, they would send me a bill and then i would go to pay that amount and they would tell me no that bill was incorrect. I since dicontinued service and the bill was sent to collections they sent a bill and now brighthouse is saying they have to check with the collections dept because that bill is way to low and I owe more than that, I now watch show on my computer, good riddens

After being with Bright House Networks's basic "bundled" Internet, Phone & TV services over a period of two years, I moved to a new house. When I received my first bill from Bright House, I was stunned to see that they had added every extra service charge for channels and services that their network provides (HBO, Showtime, Playboy Channel, etc.

etc.) which increased my monthly bill to over $350 a month. I never ordered any of these extra channels or services, but simply asked them (before I moved) to install their least expensive basic "bundled" service. After calling their customer service department (first getting an inbound telemarketer in India and after that, this person's supervisor in India) and going up about four more levels of the chain of command, the "executive" in the United States that I finally spoke to apologized and agreed to revise my services and monthly bill to the least expensive "bundled" service package. My recommendation to every residential and business customer of this "rogue" monopolistic company is to carefully audit each months bill.

Every chance they get, they will surreptitiously add a service never ordered, slip in an increase in rate, add an additional HD or DVR box you never ordered or received, add an "upgraded" channel package you never ordered, or add a tax from a municipality you do not live in, and the list goes on and on.

Apparently their customer service reps are paid by commission and are under tremendous pressure to sell and add on services to each customer. Let the buyer beware when dealing with Bright House Networks.

Brighthouse is going up on my bill by almost $11 a month. Their explanation is that I was on a promotional deal the last 12 months.

What a rip off. This is an example of not enough competition.

Also an example of overcharging monopoly in my area. javascript:ac_smilie(':sigh')

I went onto the Brighthouse website and paid my bill directly from my Wachovia bank account. My Wachovia statement shows the charge on 3/2/2011 for $113.18. I received a letter from Brighthouse dated 3/17/2011 on 3/24/2011 informing me my bank rejected the payment and they would be shutting off my service. Between the dates of 3/2/2011 and 3/25/2011 (today) I have received 3 calls from Brighthouse representatives offering me a discount if I upgrade to faster internet service and homephone service. If there was a problem with my billing information the representatives should have notified me of this. (Although there wasn't, since it was taken from my bank account) Additionally, each time they called I politely (I used to work in a call center, so I know what call center employees have to deal with) asked the representative to take me off their calling list and informed them I was not interested in their service. Before I could finish my sentence, the representative would hang up on me. I feel this behavior is unprofessional and uncalled for.

I will be canceling my service.

Unfortunately, my fiance cannot cancel his service- they are his only option in his apt. complex. They send him a notification EVERY SINGLE MONTH telling him he has not paid his bill. He has automatic payments set up through Brighthouse's website and all the payments have been going through correctly.

Major problems with Brighthouse. My bill last month indicated that the cost for an additional converter and remote was goinq up from $6.95 to $8.00.

My bill now has the cost at $9.05. When I asked about the difference, they said the additional fee was for the programing and the navigation features of the box. What good is the box without the programing?

Additionally a few months ago I lost a number of channels, that had previously been included, that they put into their sports pack so they could charge an additional $6.99 a month. I'm looking at other options.

Brighthouse seems to be operating under a bunch of crooks. They send me an offer for a guaranteed rate and duration.

However, now suddenly decided to jack up my price just because the community they had an agreement is no longer using their service. My deal with Brighthouse had no relation with any contract or agreement with the community nor was such an agreement pointed to in their offer which was mailed directly to me.

I have filed a complaint with Florida consumer protection agency and plan to take them to court unless they change their *** mind. By not standing up for our rights, we have turned this country in to bedrock of crooks and mobs, like those managing Brighthouse Networks.if

I know this to be the truth.. I am constantly having to call and cuss them out about there actions on my bill....

The only reason that we deal with them is because they are the onlyervice available in this area and I think that is why they can get away with the things that they do..

I could careless about your JD Power Awards... :?

Guest

:( perhaps all things going wrong with the service is because they don't pay the contractors for the installation they back charge 100.00 dollars per job when they only pay miserable 8.00 dollars for some jobs

Brighthouse lies, don't believe their sales people and customer service there is terrible. Go with anyone but brighthouse. SCAMMERS!!!
